The Palestinian Skate Scene

3.24.2015 Palestine

Sorry for the lack of original content today, due to English weather at the weekend I couldn't achieve everything I wanted to... Including working on a new post for the blog.
However due to one of my talented friends, I have these rather inspiring short films for you to watch. Created by camera genius and film maker Sirus F Gahan, a stand up guy I met whilst living in Brighton some years ago, these two films document his fairly recent trip to Palestine. The first showcasing the work that him and a handful of hard working skateboarders have been doing with SkatePal, a charity that gives the kids in Palestine a positive outlet for their creativity through skateboarding. Watch it here below and be sure to check out SkatePal whilst your perusing the internet.

The Second is titled "Fully Falafelled: Pittas & Powerslides in Palestine", in which Sirus documented the volunteers from SkatePal exploring the most unlikely street spots on their skateboards... I think the visuals do enough talking, so feast your eyes below.

As per usual and unsurprisingly, Sirus has created two incredible shorts. With a whole host of videos in his back catalog be sure to check out his work here and spend your time wishing your vimeo account had so many impressive moving pictures.
