Visiting Ruskin Whitstable

4.04.2015 8 Harbour Street, Whitstable, Kent CT5 1AG, UK

When I stumbled across Ruskin a couple of weeks ago, on a day out in Whitstable with Victoria, it was a breath of fresh air. Despite it only being fifteen minutes from my home I hadn't been into the town for almost a year and it looks like I've been missing out on something pretty interesting. Having opened it's doors in the summer of 2014 Ruskin is the brainchild of owner Shelly and her family, offering select menswear pieces from both British and French designers.
The shop is set on Harbour street in Whitstable in the heart of the famous seaside town, providing something completely new to the area. Hitting the workwear nail directly on the head Ruskin plays host to the likes of the well known brand Universal works and carries smaller designers like Dobson that are making waves in the industry.

Having the opportunity to spend some time chatting to owner Shelley her passion for all the the stocked designers was undeniable, each piece being hand chosen by herself the whole store is dripping with continuity and personality. Although they occupy a small website, they've chosen not to run an online shop which is a move I admire greatly. With a great deal of foot traffic passing through the store, this small operation is providing shoppers with a unique experience that can't be found online.
Take a trip to the store yourself to discover their ever growing brand list that includes Sunspel, Kestin Hare, Dobson, Armor LuxVetra, Huit Jeans, Universal Works, Gibson London, Jshoes and Baracuta
