A few days in Budapest

9.14.2015 Budapest, Hungary

I've always been one of those people who take hundreds of pictures when I go away. So many so that when I get home I'm greeted with the overwhelming feeling that sorting through them properly will actually take a great deal time and effort. Those of you who follow me on Instagram will have seen that Victoria and I spent the last week in Budapest, which was a 25th Birthday present from her to me. The trip crept up on us both really quickly but we managed to get our acts together and plan an amazing 5 day city break. Enjoy some visuals below...

The grounds around Vajdahunyad Castle | Worth a visit before or after seeing Hero's Square

Sightseeing at Hero's Square  | a must see and the most visited monument in Budapest

A day spent at Margaret Island | A great way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, they even let us hire an electric car

On the Steps of of St Stephen's Basilica | definitely worth a visit and if you catch it on the right day you might be lucky enough to go up to the tower

View from the 360 Bar | I highly recommend this place, it was amazing to sit and look over the City with a few drinks

A view of the Hungarian Parliament from our night time cruise on the Danube | You have to do this when the City is illuminated

I hope I haven't overloaded you with pictures so I'll stop there, for me there is still so many to sort through from our visit to Citadella and of our favourite Ice Cream from Gelato Rosa. With plenty of architecture to see, history to soak up and fun stuff to do I would highly recommend a visit to Hungary's capital to see it for yourselves.
